 Saddle Pocket Ranch is proud to continue in our 35 year tradition of catch and release fly fishing program. From novice to expert, fly fishing enthusiasts return to the waters of the Little Snake River and Battle Creek to experience some of the finest rainbow trout and cutbow fishing in northern Colorado.
Fly fishing packages are offered on a daily or extended stay basis. Fully equipped, comfortable cabins are available for the overnight guest.
Saddle Pocket Ranch has 3 miles of Little Snake River flowing through it and ½ mile of Battle Creek which joins the Little Snake mid point of the ranch.
4 fly fishermen on the stream at one time is ideal, plenty of room to spread out and experience a very diverse natural stream. Lots of deep holes and cover for the big boy. This stream offers wild and vigorous rainbow trout and cut bow fishing. To date, 24" is the biggest, but broken lines and stories of bigger are out there.

July 8
Louie 10 fish to 13". Betty 6 to 10". "Just Right", gold ribbed ear nymphs, grey hackle yellow wet fly. Few fish rising. Water clear. Cold (no thermometer). Betty got a double fishing 2 flies. In the afternoon, slow, Betty caught 2, one whitehead, one rainbow trout. Louie one 11" rainbow trout. Hook 2 heavy fish - 16"+.
July 12
In the morning Betty caught 2 fish and Louie with 3. One 16" rainbow trout part of a double with another the same size that got onto a 6" cutthroat.
